Elgin Thompson is a Managing Director at Digital Capital Advisors, based in the firm’s New York City headquarters. Elgin concentrates his practice at the intersection of Internet, software and digital media. He has completed more than 75 merger and acquisitions, public and private market financings generating over $40 billion in enterprise value. Elgin has worked with leading public and private companies active in the space, including Google, Facebook, Intel, Disney, Time Warner, Liberty Global, Nielsen, AOL, Neustar, Groupon, CDW, Catalina Marketing, Xerox, Level3 and EMC, as well as notable emerging growth companies such as Constructive Media, ListenFirst, Magnopus, InContext Solutions, Adbrain, Vidcaster, Collective, Smartclip, XOS Technologies and Veoh Networks.
Previously, he was SVP of Corporate Development at GridNetworks, an OTT infrastructure company backed by Comcast Ventures, Panorama Capital and Cisco. He was instrumental in negotiating the sale of the company. Previously, Elgin was a senior member of the Technology and Media Investment Banking Groups at Bear Stearns and Merrill Lynch. Elgin began his career as a mergers and acquisitions lawyer with Wildman Harold and DLA Piper, respectively.

Elgin holds a MBA from the Kellogg School at Northwestern University, a JD from Temple University School of Law and a BA from Northern Illinois University.
